logo design
Logo design is an essential part of building a successful brand, however it is often undervalued and consigned to the ranks of 'stick it on at the end'.
What is the single biggest mistake often made with logos?
In my experience it goes something like this - "we need some new stationery, a letterhead, comp slips and business cards, how quick can you do them? Oh, and can you put some sort of logo together while you are doing it?"
There are many ways to design a logo, but as with many things - you get what you pay for-
avoid both ‘on the cheap’ or ‘we need it yesterday’ approaches when looking for a designer to produce a logo.
A successful logo is unlikely to be put together as an after thought to something else, or thrown in for free with another design project - it needs to be considered carefully and afforded the importance it deserves. A good designer will have a process that they follow to produce a logo design, often this is very similar amongst designers and is usually a result of the basic design theory learnt whilst at art college.
